About this experience

Yamazaki is where Japanese malt whisky started. Suntory began building the distillery in 1923 at the foot of Mt. Tennozan, southwest of Kyoto, chosen for its clean water and natural setting. Guided distillery tours explain how whisky is made, from mashing and fermentation to distillation, ageing and bottling. The site also has a whisky museum and a tasting lounge. Visits run on a reservation system, so the dates and tour type available to you are confirmed through your enquiry.
